When I Gift You Dreams

And so when I give you my dreams, know I am trying to gift you future. I'm gifting to you body, giving to you oceans and seas to dive in and splash across, mountains to lay on top of, sun to soak in. I’m mixing recipes just for you: crisp granny smiths, gentle mornings, ethereal nights, wind, spice, eucalyptus and lavender, warm light, expanse, a deep stretch. I’m pulling out for you Kyle's fresh baked cookies, MT's poems, Mariel’s contagious laughter. Dan's deep cello moans, Amalia’s eyes looking right at you. It’s all here: Jo’s commitment, Eni’s cracking laughter, Kenia’s feeling of home, Brittani’s intuition, Leila’s sisterhood. I give you Sama’s jokes, Olivia’s pastels, Brew's lullaby, Sharon’s giggle, Samm’s sparkle, Brie’s soul, Emily’s thoughtfulness, Zach's charm, Kevin’s curiosity, Amy’s veracity, Lucy’s grace, Isla’s play, Aunt Donna's magic. I am conjuring the sweetness of a thousand pomegranate rubies, the euphoria of Saladita's long left break, the pleasure of expressing personality in a new language. I am crafting a cozy room for you to read in, a forest trail for you to wander, a drum to pull at your hips, a rhythm to pull you closer to me.
